Falling
So i am taking a firefighter class and i had to go on sunday. I didnt go to bed til like 3 cuz of prom and then i had to get up at 630 so it was already a bad day. We were practicing rescueing a person from a second story window down a ladder. we had to recue the instructor. he sits on your leg and ur arms are up by his arm pits on the rung of the ladder. I moved down a rung on the ladder and went to move my hands down. But i couldnt find the next rung and i fell off the ladder from two stories up and landed on my side and the instructor landed on me. It's weird it happened so fast but i had time to think about it as i was falling and thought i was definately going to break something but i didnt thank god. I started freaking out along with everyone else but i wasnt freaking out cuz i was hurt but because i felt rlly bad and all i could say was im sorry im sorry i didnt mean to drop you to the instructor. Ya that was a bad day.

Department 19
So i started reading this book and i had no idea it was about vampires at first. It was a little sketchy in the beginning and i wasnt sure i liked it but in the end it was pretty good. Its a little weird and i at first i was like this is pretty much like any other vampire legend book because its about dracula and stuff. There is also Frankenstein in it as well. Will Hill finds ways to connect these types of things and he almost gives you the history of vampires. The whole book is about Department 19, which is like an FBI/swat team that kills vampires and protects Britain from them. In other countries there are other forms of it to help keep vampires under control. The book focuses on a teenage boy, Jamie Carpenter, he gets roped into the world of vampires pretty much by force but is not very welcome. His father was believed to be a traitor of Department 19 and sold them out to the oldest vampires in time. At the end you'll never guess what happens. I couldnt put the book down.

The Amish Way!?!? Yes Way!!!!
So for spring break i went to lancaster to see the amish because they are my favorite people in the world. If i could do anything in the world it would be to live with an amish family for a couple of days/weeks to see what it was like and then fall madly in love with an adorable amish boy and turn him into a horrible a teenager and have his parents shun him until we have kids and then go back to being amish. That is my ultimate goal in life. I think i could handle being amish. I love how close their family is and i already work on a farm and all that so i think i could do it. Ya i live in a world with electricity and cell phones and all that but i love how the amish live so much that i could give it up. Their values and traditions interest me so much that i would give anything to be one of them. it would be hard because they try to stay away from people because a main thing about being amish is to get rid of all ties to the outside world so they never rely on any thing new. so im keeping my fingers crossed until the die i die for that amish boy to come around and take me into his life.

Hunger Games
Yayyyyy Boii!!!!!!!
The Hunger Games is about a tough chick named Katniss Everdeen. She lives in the Seam, District 12. In the book, every place goes by districts and they are each known for something, like one is known for coal, the Seam. Katniss is the one who takes care of her family. She uses her amazing bow skills to hunt for food for her family. She has to provide for her family because her father died while working in the coal mines. She hunts with her friend Gale and they share many memories together. They are eachothers best friend and never want to be a part. The Capitol( the head honchos/place) holds the hunger games every year. There is a boy and a girl from each district that take part in this. They fight till one of them is left standing and every year the place of the games changes. When katniss' little sister gets chosen, she volunteers herself to go instead to save her sister. The boy chosen is Peeta, a bakers son. The people in the games are ranked by how well they do in training and Katniss sure impresses them. When its game time, you will be on the edge of your seat so read the book!!
A main theme in this book is power. The Capitol holds it all and the hunger games are a way for them to ensure that power. They want to keep the districts from joining together and rebelling so they started the games, forcing teens to kill each other which includes a person from ones own district. The small things Katniss does is very powerful that resist the capitol, like what happens at the end of the games and when she covers Rue in flowers. Peeta and Gale also want to resist power. They don't like the fact that the Capitol doesnt see them as humans. A major literary element in this book is symbolism. The mockingjay pin becomes the symbol for Katniss but it is also a symbol in it self because the bird in flight is Katniss. The Seam is another symbol because Katniss is from the Seam and in the end it holds the districts together. They are combined by the Seam. Symbolism is critical because it relates all these things back to the theme. The symbols created almost always resist the capitol. In the end, the mockingjay pin is like the rebel flag. It means the Capitol should watch out because districts are joining forces through Katniss. Most of the symbols are things that help Katniss to overcome the power and to make power of her own. Another theme is man v self. Peeta struggles to stay himself throughout the games. In the beginning of the games he ends up playing two sides, which would be pretty confusing. Katniss and Peeta struggle together when they are playing the part of a couple. She likes Gale but doesn't really know and Peeta struggles with her as well. At the end they struggle with finding the truth about themselves liking eachother.
The book has many strengths. It is a definite page turner because Suzanne Collins creates tension and paces the story well. The book focuses on Katniss but that gets you wondering about the other characters. It is actually a gory book because of the violence it implies but the fact that you see it through reality television distracts you from that. Katniss also focuses on other things than the actual killing part about the book. Another problem is that she never really goes into why the hunger games are in place. You figure out its to keep the districts apart but really you would think that would cause them to go to a rebellion faster but in the book its the opposite. The other thing that is a little weird to me is the fact that the tributes have sponsors. Its set up like a sport but its so much more than that. Personally i love this book and it has very few flaws. i couldn't put it down and the whole thing is very interesting. I would recommend this book to all generations because anyone would like but if you don't like good books then don't read it because this thing is AMAZING!

Fire Department
So yesterday was crazy. We had a brush fire and then there was another call after that. My dad always use to say that everyone in there was dumb and that they never listened to them and alll they like to do is fight well yesterday i learned that it was him doing all of that. He starts everything in there. i hate to say this but it would be much better if he wasnt in there. he doesnt look out for me and just does whatever he wants when he has no power in there. Every one else in that department looks out for me but him. And yesterday he told me to join another department because i was no longer part of that one when he cant do that. He was mad at me because of a stupid thing he did that involved me. HE put my life in danger in a fire and i was trusting him to know what to do so i listened to him but big mistake. I wish i actually had a real father but he only cares about himself always has always will. Most of you reading this will be like its not that bad but it is.

Hunger Games
So I love the books a lot but im scared to see the movie becuase i loved them so much. im scared that its not gonna live up to the book and that they did something wrong or didnt do a good part at all. I guess thats the bad thing about reading the books and then going to see the movies. I am also afraid that the characters arent gonna be good in the movie. When you read a book you have in your mind what theyre supposed to look like but then the movie comes out and you're like WHAT NOOO thats not right! i just hope its everything its supposed to be. =S
